This unit is most commonly installed in the corridor outside the operating room with remote receptacles inside the operating room. In this case, a remote annunciator must be installed inside the room in accordance with the NEC. Although the IDP is most often used to deliver 120 volt service to receptacles in the operating room, it is recommended in all flammable anesthesia and "wet" locations, and any area where the interruption of power cannot be tolerated.
