This panel is also used in cardiac catheterization labs, emergency rooms, critical care and recovery areas, in addition to anesthetizing locations. The IDC contains all the basic elements of an isolated power system—shielded isolation transformer, line isolation monitor, circuit breaker panel and ground bus. It also includes a maximum of six to eight 120 volt, UL listed twist-lock, duplex or parallel blade receptacles and up to seven ground jacks for additional grounding points. This depends on the KVA size of the panel. The IDC can feed remote, and panel-mounted receptacles.
