    1. General
      1. Scope of Work
This specification provides for, but is not limited to pre-wired multi-outlet raceway systems using branch circuit wiring and/or telephone, data and other low voltage wiring. The multi-outlet raceway consists of the raceway itself, the appropriate fittings, all necessary hardware for the raceway, and any device identification to complete installation on building plan and specified herein.

      2. Regulations and Standards
The multi-outlet raceway system is UL listed as a Multi-Outlet Assembly, Surface Metal Raceway, and Prefabricated Sections and Units and shall be in compliance with The National Electrical Code as Covered under Articles 380 and 386 and complies with the National Fire Protection Association and the American Standards Institute.

      3. Documentation
        1. Submittals (Shop Drawings) Prior to installation, shop drawings will be submitted indicating exact raceway lengths, device (power and communication) types and locations, wiring sizes, quantities, all points of entry and exit, material finish, installation instructions, and circuit identification.

        2. As-Built and/or Record Drawings Any corrections or changes made on submittals (shop drawings) prior to manufacturing of raceways will constitute as-built and/or record drawings.

    2. Product
      1. Manufacturer
This specification is based on VERSA-DUCT Raceway Series________, a pre-wired multi-outlet raceway system manufactured by PG LIFELINK. Other manufacturers requesting consideration as an alternative to PG LIFELINK must submit to the engineer documentation of UL listings indicating that they are equal to PG LIFELINK. This written request must be received at least 10 days prior to bid date.

      2. Materials
Raceways, Wiring Devices, Communication Outlets and Fittings
All raceways shall be completely factory pre-assembled, including bases, cover, end plates, wiring receptacles, devices, fittings and connections. The raceway shall be UL listed as an entire assembly. Field cutting, other than trimming, will not be allowed. The raceway is constructed of extruded #6063-T5 aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of .078 inches. The Versa-Duct standard is a clear satin anodized aluminum finish. Raceway covers shall be 12 inches length (unless otherwise specified). A standard straight blade screwdriver shall be used to remove the cover without marring. Ground continuity shall be maintained throughout the entire raceway length by means of factory installed NEC sized grounding conductor. All wiring devices shall be factory pre-wired and covers labeled by means of __________(Standard - Silver self-adhesive label) (Engraving Directly on Raceway Cover) (Engraved Phenolic Nameplates - Adhesive backed black labels with white lettering). All receptacles must be mounted to the raceway by means of receptacle mounting brackets. Receptacle mounting screws will not be permitted through the surface of the raceway cover. Each receptacle shall be identified by a label noting the panel and circuit numbers. A voltage label for devices other than 20 amp, 125 voltage receptacles shall be provided. Receptacles and feed pigtails will be 12 inches (unless otherwise specified) ready for field connections. No. 562 "Scotch-Lok" tap connectors will be used for tap slicing of wires. Provisions or grommets are provided for communication/data devices. Wiring connection for these devices will be completed at the job site by the contractor.

    3. Execution
      1. Installation
In accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions and compliance with all appropriate codes, the contractor will ensure that the raceway and all the proper fittings shall be plumb, square, level and in alignment with casework or furniture as required.
