    Scope
    The contractor shall furnish and install a complete stereo system as indicated on the plans and specified herein.

    Codes and Standards
    The stereo system shall be designed and installed in accordance with the latest edition of the following codes and standards:

    • NFPA 99 "Health Care Facilities"
    • NFPA 70 "National Electrical Code"

    Wall Mount Stereo
    The Stereo System shall be PG LIFELINK Model AM/FM Stereo with ___________ (specify C/D player or Cassette player with CD changer or Cassette player). The panel shall incorporate the following features and components:

    1. Enclosure shall be a two-piece assembly consisting of a back box and front trim. The back box shall be fabricated of galvanized steel in accordance with UL Standard 50, "Standard for Cabinets and Boxes" and shall be flush mounted, unless indicated otherwise, at the elevation shown on the plans. The back box depth shall not exceed 8 inches. All internal electrical components shall be mounted on the stainless steel front, which fasten to the back box. The front trim shall be made of 12-gauge stainless steel polished to a #4 satin finish.

    2. The Stereo shall not contribute to leakage of the power system and must use a low leakage power supply. Contractor shall provide a 120 volt AC power source with a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker protection.

    3. Speakers will be mounted on stainless steel front trim 12 gauge polished to a #4 satin finish and shall be flush mounted and at the elevation shown on plans. The front will be mounted to galvanized steel back box, the depth shall not exceed 4 inches. The speakers shall have 6-1/2" Coaxial Speaker System with Dynamic 2" Tweeter, water resistant Cone, Heat Resistant Voice Coil, Strontium Magnet and maximum 100 watts of music power. Quaintly of two required.

    4. The AM/FM radio must be connected to hospital antenna system. Optional antennas can be used if need be that will provide quality reception in the area.
    Wiring
    All components within the stereo panel shall be pre-wired using THHN wire. In accordance with National Electrical Code.

    Approved Manufacturers
    This specification is based on equipment manufactured by PG LIFELINK. Products of other manufacturers will be considered provided they are equal in all respects and request for approval is submitted in writing to the engineer at least 10 days prior to the bid date.
