About News PG LifeLink Introduces New Mobile Isolated Power System for Healthcare Facilities

PG LifeLink Launches Mobile Isolated Power System

New UL 1047-listed Mobile IPS provides a temporary isolated power solution for operating room renovations, equipment maintenance, and changing healthcare needs.

PG LifeLink is expanding its isolated power portfolio with the introduction of its new Mobile Isolated Power System (MIPS), designed to give healthcare facilities greater flexibility when temporary or supplemental isolated power is needed.

When an operating room's isolated power equipment requires repair or replacement, the impact can extend beyond the electrical system. Surgical schedules, facility operations, and patient care can all be affected. Planning for these situations is an important part of maintaining reliable healthcare infrastructure.

PG LifeLink's new Mobile IPS provides another option for facilities preparing for planned maintenance, renovations, and certain equipment disruptions, helping teams address temporary isolated power needs without relying solely on permanent infrastructure.

A Flexible Solution for Changing Healthcare Environments

Unlike traditional isolated power panels installed permanently within a facility's electrical infrastructure, Mobile IPS combines the essential components of a healthcare isolated power system in a mobile, stainless steel enclosure.

The system is designed for several healthcare applications, including:

  • OR Renovations & Phased Construction: Temporary isolated power for qualifying renovation and infrastructure projects.

  • IPS Maintenance & Repair: An additional option when existing isolated power equipment requires service or replacement.

  • Temporary Clinical Spaces: Isolated power for temporary procedure or treatment environments.

  • Supplemental Isolated Power: Additional isolated power circuits for qualifying specialty medical equipment and temporary applications.

  • Emergency & Continuity Planning: A deployable isolated power option that facilities can consider when preparing for equipment disruptions.

Each application requires an available, compatible facility electrical source and appropriate review by qualified facility or electrical personnel.

Built for Healthcare. Backed by PG LifeLink.

The Mobile Isolated Power System is UL Listed to UL 1047 and includes PG LifeLink's SafeDetec Line Isolation Monitor (LIM), an isolation transformer, hospital-grade receptacles, and branch circuit protection.

Available in 5 kVA, 7.5 kVA, and 10 kVA configurations, Mobile IPS supports standard 120V isolated output and specialty 208V output applications.

Each system is factory-assembled and tested, with a factory-installed cord and plug for connection to a compatible facility electrical source. A stainless steel enclosure and locking casters provide mobility for temporary applications.

Mobile IPS is not a generator, UPS, or independent backup power source. It requires an energized, compatible facility electrical supply.

Continuing Nearly 70 Years of Isolated Power Innovation

Since 1957, PG LifeLink has supported healthcare facilities with isolated power equipment, engineering expertise, and long-term service.

From permanent isolated power panels and SafeDetec LIM technology to retrofits, annual testing, and nationwide field service, PG LifeLink continues to develop solutions that address the evolving needs of healthcare facilities.

The introduction of Mobile IPS is another step in that commitment, expanding the options available to facility teams, engineers, and contractors responsible for planning, maintaining, and upgrading critical healthcare infrastructure.
